What most interests me now is the academic study of music. However, I hold interests in many spheres of the human ingenuety, and all gentlemanly persuits, such a love for fine archetecture, painting, food, book bindings, automobiles, and shoes. That art which for me speaks in the finest way and can ascertain the place closest to my heart is music, that expiring art, never captured, but only in a moment. Music is an art we remember, it can never be in a living state. That note we first hear is soon a memory as the next proceeds, and its cadence is only made useful with our memory and anticipation of its resolution. After that said resolution, the whole procedure is either remembered, or forgotten. _____________________

Sure, when I was a kid, I listened to all the popular stuff. Oh, you know, the bands, like Tommy Dorsey, and Benny Goodman, and the crooners, especially Bing Crosby. Heck, I'm still in love with him. But all that jazz seems almost old now (I still love the stuff) in comparison with new recordings of serious music. Serious music? That is what you people call Classical. In seious music, Classical is a small era in the whole, eternal compass of music. My favourite music is early. Early music. Ancient music. Musica Antiqua. Whatever you want to call it, I like old music. Really old music. Like Renaissance polyphony. And Baroque counterpoint. And some classical stuff, but for the most part, I enjoy the sacred genre amongst those. Sacred Music, in any era, but especially these, is of a much higher quality than your average profane spewing. With the exception of some pieces, like la Folia. You want to talk music? Talk to me. And please, keep it to real music this time?Hey! I like rap now (not):..From "Holiday Inn"

The Lawence Welk Show (It's a big band show not even old people like); The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show; The Jack Benny Show; The Dorsey Brothers (another big band show); Historical ..aries; British situational comedies (like "Are You Being Served" [I love Mr. Humpheries!] "Keeping Up Apperences" &c.)..
