Straight out of Waterbury, Connecticut is Hip-Hop’s newest dynamic duo, coming with high energy and a style all their own. This urban style which Mook N Fair call “up north crunk“, where lyrics and flow described the artists realness, is originated from their respective blocks and tells you about their everyday struggle. Now to properly introduce you to the artists themselves.
Raised in Waterbury, Ct 22yr old Mook and 23yr old Fair have been avid fans of Hip-Hop as long they can remember with musical influences such as Run- DMC, Outkast, 2-Pac, Notorious Big, Nas ,Jay-Z, & Krs-One just to name a few. The two grew up as neighbors on the north end section of Waterbury, which is where they met as kids.Mook N Fair have been working together in their quest to be the next generations influence for over 13 yrs. They began their careers separately and later joined the locally recognized group called The Wolfpak in which they appeared on several cd’s such as “The Elements; Turning Brass to Gold,†and The Wolfpak mixtape Vol.1. All the while having 2 of their tracks being played on the Clear Channel affiliate Power 104.1 out of Hartford, CT. The also entered into a contest at the radio station, where fans voted on-line for the best track from local talent, a feat that helped them gain exposure by opening for the artist known as Talib Kweli, Rob base, & Frankie j at the Webster Theater in Hartford, CT. Since then Mook N Fair have been doing shows all over the US, in places such as New York City, Oklahoma City, Philly, Mass., Miami, LA, and Atlanta, Ga. For other well known artist like Swiss Beats, Mims, Kiesha Cole, and Redman. Currently they have been getting major spins on HOT 93.7 with their single “On The Low†as well as on college radio stations, night clubs, and several internet radio shows. The duo was also given the chance to perform at the Hartford Civic Center for the highly coveted Hot 93.7 event “Jingle Jam†in from of 15,000 screaming Connecticut and Massachusetts fans. Aside from performing they have been featured on over 80 DJ mixtapes in the US and overseas, including the likes of Big Mike, DJ White Owl, DJ Scope, Kay Slay, and DJ Ames just to name a few.At the present time Mook N Fair are busy putting the finishing touches on their new upcoming mixtape while still promoting their mixtape titled “The Best Kept Secret 2â€. The first one of the series, which had 24 tracks, sold over 20,000 copies in the streets independently. They have recorded, mastered, produced, and mixed at their very own studio, Galaxy Studio, and are hard at work on creating more fire for their upcoming album.
