when I have children I am going to make sure that I listen to them. whether anyone admits to it or not, most human relationships revolve around power. as long as there is an age difference, the power is in favor of the older person (unless the person becomes too old, ex people with dimentia/people in nursing homes). and most people will do anything to keep that fucking power to themselves. older people like to claim that youth is synonymous with inexperience and because of this their ideas are half-baked and useless, which is retarded and ignorant. I remember being little (and even nowadays) trying to talk to adults about things and being pushed aside, telling me I'm too young to think about things like that or feel a certain way or be a certain way.
fuuuuck that! I will cherish their wisdom and take them as much into account as any other adult.
