About Me

I'm an incurable romantic. I dance when nobody's looking. I watch the news all the time, sometimes as much as six hours in a day. I'm addicted to books and movies, of almost all kinds. I talk to my cat. I'm obsessed with the Titanic, the history of the British Royal Family and Figure Skating. I love to write by hand. I'm what you might call a cynical optimist. I'm eclectically quirky. I can be entirely professional and serious or a total goofball depending on the situation. I love to travel. I can visualize history like you would not believe. I hate close-mindedness and bigotry. Don't push me to give an opinion until I'm ready, beacuse I prefer to gather as much information about a subject in order to make the best judgement. I hate assumptions, they can be dangerous things. And who says figure skating can't be fun/funny? (I love this!)
What Katherine Means
You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.
You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.
People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.
You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.
You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.
You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.
Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.
Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?
Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence
You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well.
An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly.
You are also good at remembering information and convincing someone of your point of view.
A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary.
You would make a fantastic poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator. What Kind of Intelligence Do You Have?
What Your Soul Really Looks Like
You are very passionate and quite temperamental. While you can be moody, you always crave comfort.
You are a grounded person, but you also leave room for imagination and dreams. You feet may be on the ground, but you're head is in the clouds.
You believe that people see you as larger than life and important. While this is true, they also think you're a bit full of yourself.
Your near future is in a very different place (both physically and mentally) from where you are right now.
For you, love is all about caring and comfort. You couldn't fall in love with someone you didn't trust. Inside the Room of Your Soul

You Belong in London
A little old fashioned, and a little modern.
A little traditional, and a little bit punk rock.
A unique soul like you needs a city that offers everything.
No wonder you and London will get along so well. What City Do You Belong In?

Music:

Film, Broadway (most of it), big 19th century orchestral music (especially by the Russians), Beethoven, some opera, some jazz, some rock (especially Evanescence), celtic, and I've been on a kick lately where I also listen to plainchant, troubadour music and renaissance music as well.

Movies:

I like quite a wide range of films, the only genres I categorically dislike are slasher/splatter/horror type things. Instead, favorites include The Age of Innocence, Band of Brothers, Beauty and the Beast, Blazing Saddles, Cast Away, Clue, The Devil Wears Prada, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Galaxy Quest, The Goonies, Gone With the Wind, Gosford Park, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, King Arthur, The Lion in Winter, Lord of the Rings, Mash, Memoirs of a Geisha, My Fair Lady, Noises Off, Ocean's Eleven (George Clooney version), Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride and Prejudice (both the Colin Firth and the Keira Knightley versions), The Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Sense and Sensibility, Shrek 1 and 2, Star Wars (all of them), Toy Story, Troy

You Have Not Been Ruined by American Culture
You're nothing like the typical American. In fact, you may not be American at all.
You have a broad view of the world, and you're very well informed.
And while you certainly have been influenced by American culture (who hasn't?), it's not your primary influence.
You take a more global philosophy with your politics, taste, and life. And you're always expanding and revising what you believe. Has American Culture Ruined You?
You Are Best Described By...
Impression, Sunrise
By Claude Monet What Famous Work of Art Are You?

Books:

I really should buy stock in Barnes and Noble, I might get some of my money back. History books, Pride and Prejudice, the Harry Potter Books, Lord of the Rings, The Mummy by Anne Rice, some Clive Cussler, Get Fuzzy and the Far Side comics. I'm trying to read Memoirs of a Geisha right now, but school's kind of getting in the way. :)

Heroes:

my parents, Dr. B., JK Rowling (no, seriously), the military
