About Me

Lady Di, started making music when she was about 9 years old. Her mother brought her, her first keyboard for christmas and since then she has always had a passion for music. Growing up in a very musical family, (Her Mother use to sing and her Dad is a full time producer, singer, songwriter, composer, and keyboard player and is in a reggae band called The Amarics) Lady Di grew up with the sounds of Teena Marie, Luther Vandross, Dennis Brown, Lisa Stansfield. Not really inspired from many of the new age sounds, Lady Di was forever plunging into her mothers record box and playing a lot of rare groove and soul. When she reached about 13 Lady Di went to a friends party where drum and bass was played. Lady Di never heard of this music and went straight home after to try and tune into any local radiostation that played it. Hypnotised by the Mc's Lady Di began taping their sessions and writing the words that they were saying, only to imitate it in her bedroom . One of her best friends Karlene, also took a shine to drum and bass and sooner than later both friends were writing their own lyrics . It wasn't untll Lady Di was 14 that she decided to take the mic and spit some lyrics at anoher house party her and Karlene attended. The repsonse she recieved spured her to continue in her writing and to perfect her speed she had the bug and continued practising her fast chatting over any beat she could hear. At 15 when Lady Di was still in school a friend of hers made her a copy of Wu Tang's 36 Chambers. Lady Di was once again mesmorised by the rawness and the rebellious nature rap held. From listening to cds from Nas, Wu tang, Lost Boys, and Biggie. lady Di began writing her own raps and spitting on mid tempo beats. By the time Lady Di reached 20 she was Mcing over drum and bass, house and garage, hip hop and also singing a few hooks to go with her songs. During this time Lady Di was living with her dad and picked up a few tips about engineering and composing music. Staying up for 32 hours in a studio with a bag of weed pizza and chinese box stacked high.Lady Di produced her first beat called WEST LONDON. Composed through a Triton Keyboard, recorded on a reel to reel (Rememeber them) and mixed down on a 48 track Mackie. For the past 5 years Lady Di has been producing on and off, she is currently writing songs for media. Alot of the tracks that you are hearing on this profile are works in progress. Be cool to leave comments or suggestions.Peace
