The Question

I am here for Friends

About Me

"Let's start at ridicuous and work our way backwards."About Me:...I am a super hero trapped in a secret identity. I fall somewhere between quirky and certifiable. I try desperately to believe in the GOOD. I blame fairy tales and Disney for many of the delusions about love that I am incapable of letting go, but I still thoroughly enjoy both. I grew up in Maine, fled to Pennsylvania, lived on the road, settled too briefly in Vegas, relocated for (failed) love, called New Jersey my home, and spent nearly a year in the Mitten State, for work...and now I find myself in the Boston area. I love to be challenged and stimulated intellectually, but I also understand the necessity for ridiculousness. I'm HUGE with the under five crowd. I believe that children are one of the few magics still roaming the Earth. I truly feel that there is never enough laughter to go around. The one thing I cannot tolerate is hypocrisy. It is impossible for me to truly like anyone that drives a Hum V-unless they are in the armed forces; SUV's are negotiable. I try not to believe in Fate and a Higher Design, but I also do not believe in Coincidences. I understand that is a contradiction. My best friend is a Republican. I struggle with that every day.

My Interests

I am a comic geek. I especially love the X-Men. A Marvel Boy at heart, I have been messing around with DC on the side more and more frequently. Besides comics, there's PS2, Wii, PSP, Theatre, Reading, Mythology, Cartoons, Dressing up for Renaissance Festivals, Dressing up for Halloween, Dressing up in costumes for no reason, Wading the Internet, and getting enraged at the government. I thoroughly enjoy paintball but do not own my own gun. I love to lie underneath Christmas trees and stare up into them. I also love watching old ladies using cell phones...try it sometime. I attempt to use the word 'vomitous' every day.

I'd like to meet:

Geeks, dorks, and nerds. Another super hero to team up with in my fight for justice against the ever-enroaching forces of cynicism; I already have my arch-nemesis: her name is Celeste. I tend to speak in metaphors, so an ability for abstract thinking is a must. I would really enjoy meeting people who love to have fun, and not always at the expense of others. I am only interested in meeting and making friends with honest people who can be up front with the world about who they are and what they truly think and feel. If you can't be honest with me or yourself, then there is no possible way that any connection can be established. I would love to meet anyone who can make me laugh, and who can just be themself with me, faults and all. I would enjoy having a discussion with anyone who can explain the Electoral College to me; bonus points to anyone who can convince me of the validity of it. I would love to talk to anyone who can get lost in conversation about the X-Men, and any fantastic character who would take up arms with the assassin and I against the hoards of evil is strongly welcome. Of course, I would love to meet John Lithgow (again), Bea Arthur, and Stitch.

Music:

For Fun: ABBA always cheers me up. Tenacious D. Cher is a Muse....one of the originals, in fact. Dance and techno. Monster Ballads. Musicals. Incidentally, has anyone ever heard Ethel Merman's disco album? Or Bette Davis? Magnificent.

Television:

The Office, Pushing Daisies, Brothers and Sisters, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. (I was underwhelmed and overly disappointed with the second season of Heroes.) I also enjoy: 30 Rock, Weeds, Arrested Development, Carnivale, Gargoyles, Strangers With Candy, The Daily Show, X-Men Evolution, The Golden Girls, Justice League Unlimited, Drawn Together, Family Guy, Desperate Hoes, Keeping Up Appearances, the little known 'Allo, 'Allo!, and on occasion, I love the Antique Roadshow.......

Books:

Fables, Kingdom Come, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, The Sword Of Truth series, Blue Moon Rising, The Celestine Prophecies, anything by Al Franken, The Tao of Pooh, An Arrow's Flight, and Harry.
