Band Members: Terry Parsons from Bell Island has played in the Atlantic Canadian music scene for 30 years. His material was born from a collaboration of complimentary musical talent. Original songs written and produced by Terry, speak to the diverse influences that played a hand in the creation. Like Newfoundland’s rich history, the songs defy a single classification, and are all undeniably durable, Home to Bell Island and The Irish thorn have a traditional flavour, while Kyle-Lee and Prince of the sea have Folk overtones and listeners will find the lyrics and story lines pleasantly reverberate through the mind. Terry comes from a background of musical talent, so originally composed work comes at no surprise. He was born to parents from Bell Island, Newfoundland, who wrote, performed, and toured the Newfoundland scene.Terry started performing in clubs at a young age and perfected the live performance the only way possible - through sheer determination. He held down full time jobs during the workweek and separately performed cover tunes in assorted bands three nights a week in St. John’s and Newfoundland for many years. In the 80's Terry played his originals in the renowned George Street Festival and Strand Lounge where his voice was likened to the late Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott (Newfoundland Herald July 1987) The 90's brought bass and vocals with The Privateers album “Taken by Storm.” He was touted as a ‘well rounded musician, good bass player’ (The Express Sept., 1992) In 1994 he personally funded and release a solo album The Irish Thorn, which sold 1300 copies. The album was re-released in2007 re-mastered in digital CD format .It was picked up by the local radio stations here in Newfoundland, The album is still being played today. He partnered up with a guitar player from Bell Island, Bill Whalen in 2003 and starter work on a new album of country folk rock. Titled Small Town. The album was released in the spring of 2007 to great reviews; in the fall of 2007 The Album was nominated for Country Group Of The Year 2007. Music NL. Terry is back in the studio working on a new album called, Salt fish & potatoes. With Kelly Russell On fiddle & Concertina & Dave Panting On mandolin . This new project will tickle the funny bone of the listener & it is sure to make you tap your feet. Terry is totally committed to his craft. He works hard at playing, promoting, and recording his music. His name is well known through the music Industry and respected as a well rounded musician .If you get out what you put in, then terry has put his life in to his music, and it show’s.
