About Me

MyGen Profile Generator
In 1998 a guitarrist founded a band called "the mule" with a drummer and a keyboardist, all friends of his. Since none of them was really good at their instruments at that time, and since their influences and "heroes" were all but mainstream, the band didn't have an easy start...
Searching for a singer and bass player that'd fit musically and personally the band would permanently exchanged their members. The band even split up totally at one point, but the keyboardist and the guitarrist met at one special night at a trainstation and founded a doors tribute band. This band soon started to write their own original music, rehearsed in various basements and got their first gigs in the local area: the south western outback of germany.
Still not in the final lineup, this guitarrist we heard about would walk into that special bar and ask "Does anybody play bass here? I need a bass player!", and somebody would respond: "Yes.!". One word, 3 letters, one syllable, totally untrue at this point, and yet the beginning of something amazing. The guy that had responded had been experimenting with literally every instrument he could find. He had been watching video clips of the beatles in order to learn to play the guitar. (he'd sit in front of the tv set with a guitar with only 3 strings on, tuned in C, E and G, and learn to play these alltime favorite songs this way.) So at this very point in time he decided that he'd be a bass player. And nothing in the world could stop him from becoming an excellent bass player.
Some time later the original drummer, now experienced in jazz and progrock like nobody else in the area, rejoined, and the band named "Treacle People" was touring with a female singer that really rocked. But that was not ment to be the final line up... the band had to go just one step further, and thus had to go right to the beginning once again.
The next singer was found easily, and the band played every show they were able to get. One day they were promoting a gig in Heidelberg, when all of a sudden the dejay started playing "in a gadda da vida" by the iron butterfly. One of the flyers, along with the words "hear this song live at karl's bar on november 5th" reached Wolfgang Reuther, the boss and founder of World in Sound Records. He introduced the band to a designer that has now become their very own realtime-improvised-lightshow artist.
The drummer and the keyboarder decided to look for another singer ONCE AGAIN, and soon Josh Maccoy, student at the Pop-Academy in Mannheim/Germany was found.
Soon after he had joined in april 2005 the band finally began to work as a team. The line up of choice had been found after all. Rehearsals were doubled, and the next thing they knew was beeing asked to play Pink Floyd's complete "Live At Pompeji". Now, at the beginning of 2006, the band has published their debut-album and has started rolling...

Influences: We are inspired by the roots of the progressive and psychedelic hard rock from 60's and early 70's, the time period in which youth celebrated musical excesses creatively and revolutionary. Classically trained we practiced ourselves in the works of Deep Purple, Led zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, E.L.P., King Crimson and Pink Floyd. Thus originated from experimental, endless jam-sessions technically polished rock songs which have "the own appeal". Live on stage we excessively perform original material but also highlights of the rock history: In a Gadda da Vida " (Iron Butterfly), "Black Night" (Deep Purple) and Pink Floyds complete " Live at Pompeii ".
Sounds Like: Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Led Zeppelin, 70s, jammings.
