My name is daon and i've been involved in music since i've been 9 years old. most of those years being behind a drumset which is my most comfortable instrument. everything else i do is mere luck. My true love in music would be the grateful dead, they're one of the few bands that really "got it" and i was interested in what they were doing before i had ever heard a note from them.
Other influences are everything else but i could almost always listen to indian classical, otis redding, bo diddley, west african drumming, janis joplin, steve kimock, and more more more. i've been drums/spacing before i ever heard my first dead song so it was instant love at first sight.i've been fortunate enough to have played with Vince Welnick of the Tubes and later in the Grateful Dead as well as Tom Constanten also from the grateful dead and now Jefferson Starship via a band i've been playing on and off with since 1999 named Terrapin Flyer, Wingnut featuring many of the members of Dark Star Orchestra, B.B. King's daughter, Shirley and other great players who are as good as any. I've also done theater work as a pit player.
