FiveForty was formed in 1999. It was shaken together by five brothers from all over Los Angeles to create a musical Molotov cocktail. With an explosive concoction of rhymes, riffs, and beats. Influenced by the likes of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, and P.O.D., FiveForty is on a mission. That mission best summed up in a line from their hit "Nothing Less"; "My only contraband is this mic in my hand/strategic lyrics passed down from the son of man/take it to the boroughs/bomb graffiti murals/a coup d'etat of anti-Christ bureaus".
If you didn't know already, FiveForty is a band made up of God fearing brothers. Not wanting to be categorized, they despise being labeled. They are a rock band with a message and sound for all people. But don't get FiveForty twisted, their message and performance is reminiscent of a Roy Jones Jr. jab punch, strong and always in your face.
