Stevie G

About Me

Stevie G is a reggae, dancehall, and conscious artist born straight out of Jamaica, in the Parish of Port Land. At the age of ten, Stevie G realized he had a talent for deejaying and started singing on local sound systems and entertaining at community concerts. Because his vocal style is so unique, he decided to come to the music capital of the world, Hollywood, California. After arrivaing in Los Angeles in 1997, Stevie G quickly began making a name for himself, performing at every local show he could.
One day, while at home perfecting his craft, Stevie G received a call from Bigg Mixx Mike, a producer at Freckle Face Records. He was very impressed with Stevie Gs street reputation and asked Stevie G to come and audition for him. People walking on the streets started pouring into Freckle Face Records looking to purchase this new record that was playing, not realizing it was in fact Stevie G auditioning! Freckle Face Records and Bigg Mixx Mike decided right then and there to sign Stevie G to a 1 year production deal.
During that first year Stevie G recorded his single called, Hot Piece of Girl, and On The Corner. The singles were such a great success that it gave him complete street credibility amongst all Caribbean and Americans in the Los Angeles reggae scene.
Once Stevie Gs popularity grew so did his show bookings. Shows such as the Jamaican Independence Day Celebration, The Annual Sea Breeze Festival, and the Martin Luther King Day Celebration are just a few on his long resume. He has also received an award from the City of Inglewood for his contributions to the community.
Stevie G has recorded with numerous reggae artists including Unseen Lab Recording artist E-Dee on his certified gold album, From JA 2 LA 2 Di World. Stevie G will also be featured on a new compilation coming out on the Unseen Lab Recording label.
Just recently Stevie G has hooked back up with Bigg Mixx Mike, now of the DiamondMix Studio, and they are creating some of the wickedest new tunes in dancehall. Songs like No More War, Yo Body, and Who Dem Want. There are also music videos for a few of these songs. Stevie G is currently in the studio working on his new album called, The Return of Stevie G.
