I enjoy politics, music of all kinds, cooking/grilling, having friends over, going to soccer and softball games, playing with my kick-ass dog, and generally making things up as I go along. I don't really have a routine, but I have favorite people, and love to surround myself with them as often as possible.
"In the century now dawning, spirituality, visionary consciousness, and the ability to build and mend human relationships will be more important for the fate and safety of this nation than our capacity to forcefully subdue an enemy. Creating the world we want is a much more subtle but more powerful mode of operation than destroying the one we don't want."
- Marianne Williamson
"How can I lose faith in the justice of life, when the dreams of those who sleep upon feathers are not more beautiful than the dreams of those who sleep upon the earth?"

I am actively seeking other well-intentioned folks like myself, those from the smallest demographic groups especially: homos, queers, freaks, and the like; flaming liberals; successful artists; free spirits; non-conformists; brilliant thinkers; do-ers, movers and be-ers :) people born in 1975, '76, '77, '78 (affectionately known as the intentional children); and anyone else who feels deeply, speaks their truth, and takes risks in the name of a life that is greater than a sum of it's parts.
I love music!
Only problem is, I love so many kinds of music, I can be hard to nail down. Different genres are how I keep the chapters of my life distinct. The ones that stand out are: John Prine, Ani Difranco, Pink, U2, Amy Steinberg, The Dixie Chicks, Mos Def, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Nora Jones, Dar Williams, Jimmy Buffet, Paula Cole, Bonnie Rait, Lauryn Hill & the Fugees, Beastie Boys, Ray Lamontagne, Joan Osborne, Shakespeare's Sister, Lucinda Williams, Patsy Cline, Cigar Store Indians, Natalie Merchant, De La Soul, Melissa Ethridge, Celia Cruz, Janis Joplin, Black Sheep, Alicia Keys... my tastes are a tad ecclectic, no?
As far as movies go, I like such lame ones, I'm embarrassed to list them. Let's suffice to say, I gravitate towards escapism, special effects, and silliness. I have no interest in suspense, thrills, or romance in the movies- my life is too exciting for my entertainment to stress me out!
TV is the devil, but I love it like crack. Anything on HGTV, Charmed, CSI, Law & Order, Daily Show, Colbert Report, 4400, pretty much the cheesier the sci-fi, the better.
I am an avid reader, and although I mostly read articles these days, my beloved books are almost too numerous to list! My non-fiction, theory, and social musings vary daily, but the old faves are: Pema Chodron, Mills, Marx, Elder, Wallerstein... Back in the days when I used to actually read for pleasure, just about any fiction by: Heinlein, Atwood, Eddings, Donaldson, Steinbeck, Winterson or of course T. Reynolds ; )
My childhood favorites (that are still on my shelf) are: Madeline L'Engel (the oldies, not so much the new stuff), and a zillion of those wizard fantasy books from middle school, Where the Wild Things Are, the Laura Ingalls series, and just about anything by Dr. Seuss- you can't ask a nerd about books without conjuring old friends.
My heroes include my pragmatic mother, my brave and brilliant sister, my ever-faithful Grandmother, a veritable legion of ex's who remain a source of love and joy, my dear friends who never cease to show me that the world is filled with love and still worth fighting for-
and the many great minds and hearts who light the path for me and will doubtlessly return in many forms to illuminate the way for others: Siddhartha Gautama, Angela Davis, Margaret Sanger, Judith, Artemesia Gentilespe, Ani Difranco, bell hooks, Benjamin Franklin, Hildegarde VanBingden, Martin Sheen and Frederick Douglass
