About Me

Doing the solo thing now, mostly used to being in bands but find myself in this solo space from time to time; new york city chick, running around in various projects including pupster, punk trio with mats nordman on drums (was in mytv's,he rocks, one of the best drummers EVER) and di galliono on bass (from luna lounge oh how we miss that place); purge with mats and paul alves on lead guitar (sousalves, now his solo project, you gotta hear him on electric guitar this kid is unbelievable MY BROTHAFROMANOTHAMUTHA); degenerate art with jim murray on drums (drummer for frank black, reid paley trio,he's an artist a true rarity) and heleen wubbe on bass (she's in switzerland now with hubby franz treichler from the young gods, and played the hardest meanest riffs this side of the danube); brief foray in thrust (sex infused female band of the 90's, I replaced patti rothberg who went on to do a very successful solo career on a REAL label, you know tour support and everything, oh how we all yearn for that situation!) with the sex goddesses taraball, viva kneival, miss kelly webb demonic and usually unclothed, eileen connely; sargeant strange punk band with laura buss on vox (I still have her neon green braid that she cut off for me, that 6 foot beautiful texan with her white rat and band mascot tallulah), karen miss fresh face from new jersey on bass (she drove a mean bass and car when drunk), sammy on drums the inscrutible and barely coherent;and here we are now on the lower east side, sonic and occasionally poetic, creating and looking for truth and getting gloriously and sometimes dangerously distracted...came to big apple don't mind the maggots to become a dancer, classically trained wound up in the cages of the palladium and the podiums of webster hall in kiss platform boots and vinyl bikinis;writer of plays, prose, and musings of all sorts;still have the same guitar I traded my high school violin for a black ibinez that's just magic, even more magic the fender strat/marshall jcm combo, thank you matt wells what a great amp you sold me what a great guy, talk about someone who can play a guitar, wow. My son Stax Jakob Baxter, whose father is my fiance recording engineer Robby Baxter, was born February 18th, 2008, and he is the best thing that's ever happened me! He is adorable and so much fun, and I hope I can be an inspiration to him and the best mother I can possibly be! bless him and all children. I am honored with this most important and wonderful role in all my life...and my sweet and precious baby boy be blessed with health, happiness, joy and laughter...and music! He is already enamored of the guitar and tries to sing with me when I play! I am still doing vocal coaching which I love, and occasionally I find myself on a stage which I do miss, but I shall work that aspect back in with time. I sang back up with super talented samantha for Irv Irving's sold out show at Pianos on Dec 5th; Irv is a local nyc artist who is an incredible songwriter and I was honored to work with him. I am working on my vocal coaching book, my new record, and I will likely moonlight on as many cool gigs as possible and play a few of my own; I am most importantly raising Stax. He's just a joy to be around; he is the light of my life! here's to Stax! thanks all for your correspondence and well wishes...let's all rock on! the world needs us artists more than ever!
