I enjoy cooking and baking... I love my filing cabinet more than most anything...oh, and of course my job! As hard as it is sometimes, I am afraid I was born to be a teacher. I wake up every day ready to go to work. I also enjoy going to the gym and cleaning... mostly my car. I love football season... Sunday...the Titans.
I'd like to meet:
I like to meet people who have self confidence and no specific way they want to be perceived. Genuine in a word. People who are not afraid to be who they are and have dreams even if they are simple. Bill Clinton is tops on the list but Matthew McConaughey wouldn't be too bad either. Oh! And I want to meet Harold Ford Jr. I am pretty sure we would hit it off.
Music:
Steely Dan is my favorite band...and no I am not an old Medeski Martin and Wood fan turned SD fan. I love Neal Young, Cat Stephens, great Bluegrass, old country, and anything that sounds good to me since I am no music critic.
Movies:
Labyrinth is my favorite movie of all time! Then there is The Thin Red Line, The Truman Show, The Royal Tenenbaums (any Wes Anderson film), Edward Scissorhands, and the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice.
Television:
I try not to watch it but anyone who knows me knows it is always on in the background. Also, I do love Law and Order and Meet the Press. (I get chills just thinkning about Tim Russert's white boards!
Books:
I just read The Life of Pi... it was excellent! My favorite books of all time are The Grapes of Wrath, East of Eden, Lord of the Flies, the Heart is a Lonely Hunter, and The Tin Drum. John Steinbeck is by far my favorite writer if you can't tell.
Heroes:
Bill Clinton, my mom and my 92 year old grandmother.
