I am a recent graduate of California State University of Fullerton having obtained my BA in Anthropology in May 2008. Ask me why I got a BA in Anthropology and I will simply reply that it was the easiest option at the time. You see, I was originally in school to become an elementary school teacher and the only thing I really needed to get into that was a BA. Well, as time went by and so did the prereqs I decided that my life needed to have more options than that. Sadly, though, as that time went by I realized I was damn well over 75% done with my BA in Anthropology. So I stuck it out, graduated, and am now starting to map out my next move. I think I will start by taking Kamchatka... yes... *Risk reference. BEWARE!!!*
I currently work with children with special needs for the Garden Grove Unified School District. I have a passion for mentoring and being able to bring some light into children's lives. I'm a big kid, myself. So being paid to teach and basically hang out with a bunch of kids who need someone to be there for them and to be nice to them, it just seems too good to be true. I really enjoy my work, the kids make it all worth it... even the backstabbing corruption that is the public school system. Oops, I have said too much. Haha. Seriously, my job rocks. It does kind of hinder me due to working at 8am with twenty kids. So my free time during the weekdays begins shortly after 2pm but quickly ends at around 10 or 11pm as I cannot function at work if I'm not with at least six hours of sleep. But, on the other hand, my job does afford me with completely free weekends. Awesometastic!
When I'm not a slave to either school or work, I'm free to spend time with the people that matter: my family and my friends. These are the people who I tend to share my everday joys, sorrows, tears, and smilies with and I love them for it. I wouldn't be here if I didn't have any of them, and I thank them for that by being an honest, upfront person as I can. My friends and I are always up to something, whether it be a big action activity or something low-key. I'm usually found doing one or more of the following any given week: watching bad horror movies, playing video games, playing board games, taking in some local culture, road tripping, going to Disneyland, going to local music gigs (rock, usually), or bar hopping. I'm not much of a club goer or a party animal, but I can be if influenced to do such. Depends on the friend and the situation.
A little more about me. I'm terribly sarcastic and my sense of humor can either hit the spot or go terribly too far. I'm very lively when it comes to social get togethers but it does take me some time to warm up to certain people. I can be horribly shy. Then again, I can be horribly outgoing. Depends. I really enjoy just going out and having a good time but I'm not opposed to staying in and having one in the comfort of my own home. I am a huge video game geek. I own four or five video game systems and have a full library for each, dating all the way back to the SNES and to the current powerhouses of the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. I also thoroughly enjoy adult cartoons (South Park, Family Guy, Simpsons, Futurama, etc.) and have most if not all on DVD. I enjoy the arts, ranging from audio to visual to whatever else the creative mind can bring forth. I’m a retired writer hoping that some inspiration will come about someday and stir my sleeping mind. One day I will publish my novel, one day the world will know my name. But until that day comes… knowing myself is good enough.
