Use your imagination...
Mostly Retro-Ok I Love the 80's. The Clash, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Violent Femmes, English Beat, Martika, Peter Gabriel's "In your eyes" metal rock-ACDC, etc. Pop The go gos, Bangles, Nena, Bananarama, Josie Cotton, anything Valley Girl related. Nina Simone, Suzanne Vega, Mazzy star, Poe, Dido-Girl Stuff. Long live the Beatniks-Joplin, Garcia, Hendrix, Morrison, Grace Slick, Stevie Nicks etc. I can tolerate just about anything except country unless it is Johnny Cash. Good old Ella Fitzgerald and Louie Armstrong. Punk/Alternative-Dead Milkmen, Fugazi, L7. The White Stripes. Folk-Ben Harper, Joan Baez, Something new: CARI & JAMES.
Mostly IFC movies-Max, May, Rosemary's Baby; anything that gives me a sense of satisfaction. Idenity. Garden State. The Last Kiss (chick flick-not really my style, but this one is the exception). HARD CANDY. HALF NELSON. Sherry-baby. Children of the Corn. Horror movies that I grew up with. Fear and Loathing. Movies that are not so commercialized-ones that excise themselves from the typical hollywood format. Scary movies not Scary Movie-Psychological mind altering, never want to sleep again movies. Maria Full of Grace. Fast times at Ridgemont High, VALLEY GIRLS. From 1971-Panic in Needle Park. Drugstore cowboy.
The IFC, documentary channel, I mostly cannot stand reality T.V-what a waste of my time, but I have viewed some in utter disgust that I could actually watch something so worthless. However, again, not proud of it...the lifetime channel when you see some teenager rebelling by becoming a junkie or pregnant (such drama). HGTV shows-it is like watching someone else exercise (for motivation), but you are too fucking lazy-that would be me. Will & Grace. I do watch t.v. land and nick at night for some good old fashion reruns. Ok, I watch this one secretly because after all I am 27...degrassi. That is enough unveiling my secrets for one day.
Authors: Jack Kerouac. Hunter S. Thompson. William Kennedy. Ken Kesey. Autobiographies. Go Ask Alice. Drop city-excellent commune/beatnik book. The Color Purple-a classic. Anything to do with old school wicca and gypsies. Books that have a fucked up soul.
