too many to mention i read a lot but The beach by alex garland is one of my favorites along with anything by Terry Pratchett or Iain Banks, dystopian stuff- huxley/orwell, of mice and men, the hitch-hikers' guide to the galaxy, the red dwarf books, his dark materials by phillip pullman (can't wait for the movie)
