About Me

Stagger were a leeds based indie/pop band. The group disbanded and performed their last gig in May 2007, despite still featuring on the leeds based soundpeople records compilation which was released the day after they broke up, they have already still been getting reviews in some the the up to date, on the ball, leeds music mags, as well as their own page on channell 3's teletext. The band formed early 2005, meeting through our course at Leeds Met Uni. The first gig was in March 2005 at Becketts Park and the gig was the starting point. The band went on to play a string of gigs on the leeds circuit, mainly inhabiting places such as the mixing tin and the vine, highllights including: cockpit and leeds met bar. Stagger enjoyed their ups and hit their plateau's as most bands on the leeds music scene do, and despite some record interest and moments of good momentum, Stagger never really got the break that their 'Leeds Bright Young Things 2006' might have suggested that they were perhaps capable of making, in reality Stagger's split was perhaps due to not only advancing musical tastes and desire to engage in a project drawing on influences that deviate slightly from former, but also because of their dissillusionment with certain aspects of the leeds music scene (tis sometimes a little bit 'who you know' and 'who you......ahem',you dig) Stagger members can mostly be found working in banks, driving lorries, or undertaking university degrees that mean absolutely nothing to them at the moment, however, plans and ideas are currently in the phone/basement/dictaphone/typewriter/back pocket/numbed brain, and a new project/band which is likely to include Ben Kitching, Andy Steingold and Carl Hayden is in the offing, so watch a plaice!!!
