About Me

Mocrac formed to promote Cash Is King, which was given a small independant release in 2004 with a mixture of guest vocalists and musicians. After finalising a line-up to to promote the album and undertaking some serious rehearsal, the creative potential of the band came to the fore. As we gigged more and became comfortable with the Cash Is King material, our own sound developed and new tunes were added to the setlist. We wanted to re-release Cash Is King with some of the band's identity so back to Liam Mulvaney in Asylum Studios we went to re-record some vocals and guitar bits and finish off a few undeveloped ideas and sure maybe a new song or two. We ended up with far too many new songs. Cash Is King will get it's re-release very soon, and we'll be previewing some new tunes on this 'space and at our gigs whilst we record album number two.

Band Website: site under construction
Band Members: Conleth Kavanagh (Drums) Stuart Doyle (Guitar & vocals) Aine de Siun (Vocals & guitar) Maurice Ferriter (Vocals & keys) Donnchadh Mac Aogain (Bass)
Influences: Breakbeats and backstreets with warm tones to shelter from the cold outside. Born of a love for Brel, southern delta harmonies, long summer days and longer festival nights. Collaborations beyond compare in a world where you have to pay for the air in your tyres. Homeless but smiling nonetheless. Music will always save us, it can never be our downfall.
Sounds Like: "A deft touch with quality melodies" Tom Dunne, Today FM. "A lovely album of laid back, loungey tracks... warm and hugely accessible" Sunday Tribune. "Very impressive debut, an impressive roll-call of home-grown musicans on this clever blend of electronica/acoustica" Hot Press. " A firm favourite on Irish Radio" The Star. "Mocrac is similar in many regards to the like of Tricky in that he uses different artists on different songs to achieve the desired effect. His ability to mix smooth French soul, German future lounge and Bristol beats makes this a uniquely accessible composition." newmusictelevision.com

The Band...
