How Ya Now?

About Me

Well, I began my world tour in 2002, and haven't managed to slow down since- I'm currently in Ireland (yes, again!)getting my masters in International Relations, and not surprisingly, I'm having a ball!I decided to continue living the dream and traveling, and accepted a job in the Persian Gulf (Doha), starting in the middle of August... which is definitely not what I thought I'd end up doing even 2 months ago, but hey, I'm excited!

My Interests

Traveling, Living the dream, Culture shocks and being out of my element, Giants Baseball, Bulmers!, Celebrity gossip, Drinking Margaritas in the middle of the day (or vodka shots for that matter), Attempting to bring back the Macarena (officially almost a success in Ireland), Getting sucked into a good book, Taco Bell, Talking about global warming (and driving my family crazy in the process),Ugly pictures of myself, Generally being ridiculous and silly, Swimming, Bars that open at 7 am, dancing like a maniac, Bubble Baths, Vegas, Karaoke (especially at the Echo before it closed), Bernese Mountain Dogs, Costume Parties, Halloween, Champagne, Febreeze, spray tans, legit Mexican food (not found in Ireland), Banoffee pie/Carrot Cake (close call on which one is better), giving and receiving hugs, giving my friends endearing nicknames like "big bear," "selfish cow," and "rat bastards," and making said friends listen to Michael Bolton's "How can we be lovers if we can't be friends" full blast, and on repeat.

I'd like to meet:

Queen Noor of Jordan. And not in the same way I previously stated that I wanted to meet Suri Cruise and Santa.

Music:

DUKE SPECIAL!!, Coldplay, Keane, Oasis, Journey, SNOW PATROL, Third Eye Blind, The Killers, Jackson 5,Damien Rice, Paddy Casey, The Pogues, Mariah Carey (namely her Christmas album- and not limited to just the holiday season), Gavin DeGraw, Elton John, Kelly Clarkson, the Kooks, the Arctic Monkeys, Scissor Sisters, Billy Joel, Oldies, Michael Bolton (ha)Whitney Houston's Greatest Hits, Celine Dion (but only "If You Ask Me To")-pretty much anything other than country.

Movies:

The Sound of Music, Dazed and Confused, Wedding Crashers/ Old School (and anything else starring Vince Vaughn), Steel Magnolias, A League of Their Own, Love Actually, Sixteen Candles, Forrest Gump, Annie, About a Boy, Walk the Line, Beaches, Euro Trip, Little Miss Sunshine...

Television:

LOST, Father Ted, The Office (I'm obsessed!!), Grey's Anatomy, any History/Travel/House remodeling show.

Books:

David Sedaris makes me laugh out loud, but I'll literally happily read almost anything. However, right now I'm stuck reading "The Political Economy of a Plural World: Critical Reflections on Power, Morals, and Civilization." Pretty much if a book has to do with globalization, transnational criminal networks, or human trafficking, I have to like it right now...
