Both Kennys natural talent and years of experience create an atmosphere of organized riot wherever he spins. Kenny Figueroa found himself playing with his first set of turntables in 83 when he began teaching himself the art of mixing. His first steady DJ position in NYs Avanti nightclub allowed his interest in music and spinning to grow. Playing regularly in NY/NJ clubs like the Centro Fly, The Door, Roxy, the Golden Rail, the Stone Pony, Leopard Lounge and the Coliseum gave him the opportunity to learn how to work the crowd and converted his interest in playing records into a passion. While holding down numerous gigs on the weekends, Kenny also spent some time in the studio and co-produced tracks on Groovilicious and Gossip records. In 1998 Kennys full time job relocated him to California for two years. His demanding job as a computer consultant consumed his time but he managed to find himself behind the DJ booth whenever he could. Playing at venues like Deuces, Martinee Lounge, Club Montage, FireHouse and Café con Leche fed his music fix while on the West Coast. Kenny kicked off the Millennium in NYC and spent the next few years spinning on East Coast. Gigs included his Friday night residency at NJs Groove Lounge making a memorable mark on the NJ house scene. And of course, cant forget to include his repertoire at NYC feline Cheetah Lounge. Kennys impeccable mixing skills bring uniqueness to his progressive tribal sound. He masterminds his music selection and artistically molds each mix with seamless transitions that include bouts of soul, riveting, energy pushes. Most importantly, however, is his genuine love for the art of DJing and the determination to be heard. Witnessing one of Kennys sets guarantees to leave the listener craving for more. His fresh tribal beats resonate like candy to the ears. In 2004 he moved to the Windy City, Kenny desires to find a home where he can play his phat beats did not take long. He played at such venues as: Vision , Jet Vodka Bar and Funky Buddha lounge . Now (2006) back on the West Coast he looks to continue his journey to making people dance.
