Love. Sports. Arts.
Alive or dead? Jesus Christ. Jeff Buckley. Walter Payton. PT Anderson.
Jeff Buckley. OutKast. Anything Chris Cornell does. JoanAsPolicewoman. Prince. Nikka Costa. Daft Punk. Bjork. Johnny Cash. Elvis Presley. Old School DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince. Death Cab for Cutie. Fiona Apple. Beethoven. Bach. Prokofiev. Gershwin. Strauss Jr. Mozart. Barber. Jon Brion comes to mind. He could slide in several categories. This list could get ridiculously long. Also anything with THICK brass sections...mmm mmm good, I love some brass and percussion...drum and bugle corp, I can get down with!
Magnolia. Punch Drunk Love. ANYTHING Paul Thomas Anderson. David Lynch films. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Adaptation. Speilberg's films. Soderberg's films. Becoming a huge admirer of the work of Aaron Ruell. My friend Heather Coker is sickly talented. Walk the Line. Pallbearer. Beautiful Girls. Joe Vs. The Volcano (so ahead of it's time) Anything shot by Robert Elswit hooks me from the first frame. This list could also go on and on and on. Disney's animated Robin Hood (with the Fox--priceless) Ultimately films that are expertly crafted with A LOT of heart!
Cartoons. Price is Right. Sporting Events. LOST.
Paulo Coehlo books. Summer of the Green Star. The Boxcar Children. Holy Bible is a fascinating read...personally goes beyond on that, but if you like great stories it's got 'em.
Jesus Christ. My parents. My brother. My wife. Walter Payton. Steve Nash. (for the record Steve Nash has been on here from the beginning...not just after winning his SECOND MVP award!) Paul Thomas Anderson (He didn't need no NYU) Musically, Jeff Buckley. There were others in the vein but he was such the "Embraceable You" of a better, more complex, too good for radio sound, while everyone was busy wearing flannel and being depressed and melancholic, swinging their heads around to power chords. Don't get me wrong, I love it all...but watch SINGLES and then listen to Jeff Buckley's GRACE...this was essentially the same era, but worlds away from one another. Wasn't this a heros section? Kinda got lopsided...I just got sick of what I was hearing on the radio today...I'd rather listen to commericals :-)
