David, Dávid, Da'ud, Dafydd, Dai, Dawit, or D

About Me

I am David. At the moment, a sense of amusement has compelled me to render my name in multiple languages; I think my favorites might be the Old Welsh Dafydd, though the Amharic Dawit and the Arabic Da'ud have a nifty sort of ring to them as well. I should also note the Finnish Taavi, the Hawaiian Kawika, the Italian Davide, the Scotch Gaelic Daibhidh and the Spanish Davíd.

I play music and do lots of other things. I share a birthday with Sharon Stone, Chuck Norris, Osama Bin-Laden, Prince Edward and Bix Beiderbecke. I would expect that this means that I'm an exhibitionistic kung-fu master with an unstable temper, regal pretenses and underlying jazz tendencies.

The Funniest Thing I've Ever Seen, Vol. 1

First, please forgive me the title of this one. I'm extremely fond of broad, sweeping statements and intellectually banal dichotomies, which offer a wonderful way of slicing the world in half, as a m...

Movie Recommendation: The Apartment (1960)

Ohhh - after my 4th or 5th viewing, I think this may be one of the most remarkable blends of comedy and drama to have ever been filmed - THE APARTMENT - in subtle ways - rises far above the convention...
