My name is Chris Record and I am a 29 year old business owner and investor living in the Bay Area of California. This is a story of how I got started with Nouveau Riche University, and what it has done for my life so far.
In June of 2005 I was first introduced to Nouveau Riche University. I attended a company presentation put together by a fairly successful doctor living just outside of Sacramento, CA. At this meeting he shared some real estate investing strategies with the audience that night that intrigued me and caught my attention. As I looked more and more into this opportunity it became clear that it was the vehicle that I was looking for to create wealth.
When I was young, my parents divorced and I spent the majority of time living with my mom. She was on welfare and we lived in section 8 housing, and well you know the rest... Needless to say, I always wanted to be an entrepreneur and I knew that there had to be more out there. I dabbled in various opportunities, and found most of my passion as a web site designer helping clients get their web pages listed well in search engines. This brought in an average income of about $30k/yr, which wasn't much, but then in 2005 I made some changes to my business and increased that income to over $100k!
I knew that if I was ever going to get into real estate investing, that now was the time since my business had finally picked up, so I moved from beautiful Santa Cruz, CA out to Roseville, CA and began my journey. I wish that I could tell you it was all uphill from there, but in the beginning of 2006 my internet business took a nosedive. In fact, my income went from $8000/mo down to $2000/mo, down to $800/mo, and even as low as $150/mo! I was devastated. It got worse as I tried to rebuild my business, and depleted my savings in the process! The last thing I wanted to do was return to the job world after being self employed for so long!
So I made one last effort to save my business, and when that didn't work, I decided to become a loan officer. I figured that I could work my way up and still learn about real estate at the same time. Unfortunately my timing wasn't the best with the loan business. Interest rates had hit rock bottom and there was a refinance boom, but I had just caught the tail end of it, and it was a tough market for loan officers. I also had a moral problem with the strategies of our brokerage because they encouraged us to help clients pull cash out of their homes to invest in more real estate, but we left them with no system of how to do this. I would stay up at night trying to think of solutions to help our clients buy more properties and create wealth, rather than just leaving them to figure it out on their own...
So that was when a friend introduced me to NRU. He told me that he had spoken with a local doctor, and that his company had a solution for buying properties that might be exactly what I was looking for. Even though I was very skeptical of the whole scenario, I decided to at least check the company out. So that was when I made the decision to attend my first event for NRU.
Now for a moment of humble honesty...
The day that I checked out my first NRU overview, I was actually negative $200 in my checking account and because I wasn't able to pay all my bills on time from lack of income, and my credit score had dropped to a 485 middle score! I still had some business suits from past entrepreneurial endeavors, so I looked sharp, but in the inside I was experiencing some dramatic financial hardship. So even though I desperately needed an opportunity like this more than ever, I was still very skeptical because I didn't want to fall on my face AGAIN!
I decided to attend another event the following week while I was in my due diligence phase, and as crazy as this sounds, things got even worse for me! I was in the passenger seat of a small car, stopped at a red light, when suddenly we were rear ended by a tow truck carrying 2 cars on it! The impact totaled the car that I was in, and I ended up with a slight case of whiplash. Enough that I was unable to drive for a couple of months, and spent most of that time in my home, as it was difficult to get around.
Now please don't get me wrong, I am an optimistic person, so I used this time as an opportunity to conduct some due diligence on this potential new direction of my life, as well as taking some quality time to focus on a goal of balance in the 5 areas that mean the most to me:Faith, Family, Friendships, Fitness, & Finances.

So after even more due diligence, and what seemed like a thousand questions, I decided to move forward with the Nouveau Riche University opportunity, and start as an Area Developer to help market their products and services in Northern California. I was fortunate enough to meet an individual who had a funding option available to me if I wanted it, where I could invest in a tuition package and attend the university, so I took him up on it. The terms of the loan weren't the best because of my credit, but I was surprised at how good they were, and I was blessed to have the opportunity for him to believe in me in the first place, given my current financial position.

The tuition package that I chose gave me access to about 10 weeks worth of classes at NRU, and I was very excited to find out what the quality of their education was like. I figured that if I was going to be truly successful in promoting the company that I needed to absolutely believe in their products and company vision. So I was off to my first week of college in Phoenix Arizona.

Wow. All that I can say is Wow! No matter what anyone might say about the college, if they have not attended, then they truly have no clue about how great the classes are! I expected the classes to be similar to some of the guru seminars on real estate investing that I had attended, but they were nothing like that at all. The instructors were fun and very informative, and taught in a way that was easy to follow along with. We took pre-tests and post-tests to make sure that the class understood the topic, and the teacher took as much time as necessary to answer questions and truly help the students to learn. I took classes on Wholesaling, Creative Financing, Subject-To Purchases, and Legal Strategies. I had an amazing experience and met hundreds of other like minded investors, both novices and sophisticated investors. Several of them had portfolios with hundreds of properties already! I found out first-hand that NRU was the real deal!

I can tell you from the bottom of my heart that if that first week was the only week that I got for the price of my tuition, that I personally felt it was worth it! My hat goes off for the staff at NRU that put together such a great college. I encourage anyone who is interested in attending classes to talk with other students who are currently attending NRU and ask their experience as well. You will find across the board that Nouveau Riche University delivers a high quality education on real estate investing, that is hard to find almost anywhere else out there.

So when I returned from my first week at college, I wrote out a business plan and set some goals that I wanted to achieve with NRU. I decided that I would spend my first year studying various real estate investing techniques, while focusing my time on marketing for NRU to build my bank account up to an amount I felt comfortable investing with, and to build back up my credit score so that I could have access to better loans as well. Plus, I had already experienced a week's worth of college classes and I felt that the value was well worth it, and I was ready to share my experience with anyone who wanted to know. So I began my journey in marketing for Nouveau Riche University!

I got off to a pretty fast start. I was blessed to have some mentorship from the local doctor that was the speaker at our events in Sacramento, and I was quickly trained and certified to market the NRU products. Within a week of returning from my first college I had already earned $16,000 in income! This was enough motivation for me to roll up my sleeves even more, and the following month I earned over $20,000, followed by a couple of months over $30,000, and then in December I was able to earn about $70,000 in income! In a 5 month time frame I had just earned over $175,000! Finally my head was above water and I was back on track!

I stuck to my original plan and continued to focus on rebuilding my credit while increasing my bank account balance, and the next several months were a fun ride! Without getting into too many details, I will say that March-April 2007 was an exciting time for me in business. In a 3 week period, I was able to bring in $150,000 in commissions just by sharing the NRU opportunity with others, and helping them to attend the classes and begin building wealth through real estate investing! I have had numerous students come up to me at their first college and thank me for inviting them out there. They have told me that their first week they got their tuition’s worth, and they were so excited to finally be moving closer towards achieving their dreams!

To date, I have never had a student that I referred, attend the college, and say that they did not feel it was worth it for them! Talk about a company that delivers… Wow!

Now, even though I set a goal to not buy any real estate in the first year, there were a few opportunities that I could not pass up. I had a close friend who was facing foreclosure on a few homes he had bought before NRU, in which he was speculating on potential appreciation but got caught at the top of the California market. So I partnered up with him on these homes and we were able to get them rehabbed and fully occupied for a decent “buy & hold” strategy. We got a new property management company in place, and were blessed with some solid tenants. But the most rewarding part was being able to help out my close friend who I had known since I was 13 years old.

I also came to the conclusion that a standard checking account was not the best place to hold my income, so I became a hard money lender (private investor) and put out over $150,000 of my money to work for me generating great returns. All I can say is that I have been blessed this past year because of the NRU opportunity.

My heart also went out to my mom, who was struggling with her current job, and her cost of living was so low, but her daily stress was so high. I decided that I would pay my mom back for her unconditional love growing up, and I put together enough money to pay her every month more than she was making at her job, to allow her freedom to follow her passions and not have to work a job. I thought that was the least I could do with what I had been blessed with.

Now, why I have I shared this story with you?

To share with you one of the many success stories that you will hear from Nouveau Riche University students. While mine is filled mostly with marketing success, you will also hear many filled with investing success. The point is that you will hear so many positive testimonials if you speak with other students. This company has changed my life for the better, and I am very thankful for it.

If a guy like me, with a 485 credit score, and a negative bank account, can figure out a way to attend this university, and use the opportunity to generate a half million dollars of liquid income in his first year, then is it possible for you? Only you can answer that question. My mentor early on told me this. He said “Chris, you can make money, or you can make excuses, but you can’t make both at the same time”. I thought it was just a fancy cliché of words, until recently. Now I see the wisdom. In my life I have made so many excuses and justifications for things, and have never quite reached my full capabilities. Now I am done making excuses. I am done listening to the negative critics that have tried to hold me back from my dreams. I have found an amazing vehicle that is delivering mind-blowing results for me and my business partners. My dream is for you to be able to experience these types of changes in your life as well…
