About Me

The Beatglider album Witches can be bought online at www.roughtrade.com and www.normanrecords.com or if you live near southend, Bubblegum Records shop (off the highstreet the sea end (near the Sunrooms) FLUX MAGAZINE ALBUM REVIEW

"...sherbert-sweet melodies, deranged instrumentation (trumpets, bird whistles) and whacked-out lyrics about strange creatures: "Premonition dragon jump in my horse and wagon...". A glorious mess."
NME

"...embraces the air of a touching epitaph styled wide screen Morricone / spaghetti westernised GSYBE before endowing itself with a disarming candy coated sheen that suggests a mellowing Gallon Drunk cross pollinated by Pavement with the smouldering grandeur of the applied handiwork of Kevin Shields at the controls."
LOSING TODAY

Formed in the late 90s through a love of 80s / 90s shoegazer and US types such as Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips, Pavement and Silver Jews.

Three albums recorded to date – first release on the now defunct TUBE BAR label – 40 DAYS OF SUMMER was well received in NME and had a few spins on Peel. The band were then signed by the Lakota label (JJ72, some other stuff) and sent to record their second album DREAMING OF ROADS in the US with BECK producer Tom Rothrock at the helm. The album was never released after relations with Lakota broke down.

Some gigs with The Sleepy Jackson followed, and sporadic gigs around in London and around the local area. Stuck with an album they couldn’t release, things went on hiatus for a while.

Finally there'll new album out this July on Enraptured Records (Flying Saucer Attack, Windy & Carl, Third Eye Foundation, Silver Apples). Gigs coming up!
