About Me

STRONGROOM has been around for just over 21 years (as anyone who made it to the birthday bash back in September will know), and we pride ourselves on being a creative place for musicians to write, record and mix music. The creative process is helped along by the interior design - and iconic artwork - by Jamie Reid & Mike Nichols which adorn every inch of our studios. But, obviously the equipment in the studios is the most important thing, and we have the best around.

Studio 1 - Neve VR60 Legend with Encore Automation This studio is great for recording with a large live room perfect for a 4-5 piece band. It can also house a choir of around 12 or a string section of 8 10 and also has a Kawai grand piano. A fantastic room for drums, even James Brown flew his band in to use it!
Tommy Lee, The Kooks, Divine Comedy, Radiohead, Black Bud, Kasabian
Studio 2 - Pro Tools HD Accel / ProControl
This room is a great mix of old and new, you have the flexibility of Pro Tools with the unique sound of an array of analogue outboard. A room that is not only good for mixing in stereo but also 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. The booth is a good size for any last minute overdubs.
Razorlight, Scissor Sisters, Goldfrapp, Underworld, David Gray, Kasier Chiefs

Studio 3 - SSL 4056 G+

Probably the best mix room in London or so our clients tell us, this room like the others offers a great range of outboard a fantastic sounding desk and a live space which has a slate recording area which is ideal for overdubs and track laying.
Feeder, Manic Street Preachers, Bernard Butler, James Lavelle, Rufus Wainwright

Studio 4 - Mackie/ProControl

Studio 4 is perfect for writing, recording and pre-production. With plenty of natural light this room is home away from home and will be sure to suit any budget.
Ian Brown, The Modern, Futureheads, Hope of the States, Kila Kela, Son of Dork

We also have the perfect place to kick back and relax after a hard day in the studio in the shape of Strongroom Bar & Restaurant , with plenty of beer on tap and great food with a Columbian twist. Come along if you like an eclectic, laid-back crowd and great tunes on the jukebox. Also makes a great venue for acoustic sets, album launches and showcases.
As well as a great range of studios, Strongroom Management represents some of the most talented engineers/producers/writers in the UK.Ken Thomas, Mike Nielsen, Tim Holmes, Ben Dobie, Pedro Ferreira and Donal Hodgson have worked with artist from Sigur Ros to Underworld, Dannii Minogue to Kool and the Gang to The Darkness to Sting!
BREATHE is the amalgamation of the post divisions at Strongroom and Air Studios and is gaining a fantastic reputation in the few months since its inception, specialising in DVD, television, film and UMD. Razorlight, Kasier Chiefs, Shaun of the Dead, League of Gentleman Apocalypse, Autopsy Life & Death, Little Britain, Corpse Bride and Dr Who are just a few.
STRONG HIRE is going from strength to strength, providing the best pro tools systems around. Live recording is another speciality of the hire team, who have recently recorded gigs for Queens of the Stone Age, Blondie, The Ravonettes, Ian Brown and Motorhead among others.
