About Me

I'm crabby without coffee but otherwise pretty chipper, perky even.I'm anti sexism, racism, and shoes that match your purse.I feel passionate about poetry, politics, and lip gloss. I can't identify as anti-consumerism because I own hundreds of little glossy tubes and buy every shirt I own in at least three different colours, but I really do think capitalist globalization is out of control, at large and in my very own closet .I'm superficial but not shallow and I think there is a difference.Best part of my day: TEATRO LUNA! Chicago's first and only all-Latina theater company, founded by me and la Tanya and absolutely full of the most amazing, talented women I know.Worst part of my day, failing disaster: My dissertation, on lynching.Best part of my month: PROYECTO LATINA! Monthy open mic featuring more fabulous, inspiring women.I have some websites: www.teatroluna.org and www.coyapaz.com.I talk here:
