I was born in England on an RAF base. As an air force brat, I got to travel the world and was subject to many types of music. I started playing music at the age of 10. My influences were Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, and others with powerful voices. By the age of 15 I was singing in my first rock band in the Philippines. I also listened to the 70's soul bands such as Earth Wind & Fire, Parliament/Funkadelic, Rick James, etc. Some of my early metal influences are Iron Maiden (with my hero Paul DiAnno), Accept, Scorpions, Judus Priest, etc. I moved to Sacramento in 1981 and in 1984 I formed Sentinel Beast along with bassist Mike Spencer(Flotsam & Jetsam) and drummer Scott Awes. We were signed in 1986 to Metal Blade Records with the help of Slayer and Omen. We also landed some songs on various compilation albums including a Bay Area album called, "The Eastern Front", which was recorded at the legendary, "Ruthies Inn". Sentinel Beast played all of the big shows in Sacramento, opening for bands such as, Slayer, Exodus, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond, Megadeth, Motorhead, Exciter, and may others. We went through a lot of guitarists and Mike decided to leave the band and join Flotsam & Jetsam. I also departed to join a Chicago outfit called, Znowhite. Good band. I did two US tours with them along with Razor(Canada) and Ludichrist(NYC), who later changed their name to Scatterbrain. We also opened up for Kings X at the Cat Club in NYC. Their Bassist/vocalist, Doug and I have been friends ever since. In 1988, after a year singing for Znowhite, I left the band and joined an all-girl Swedish band called, Ice Age. They were the first women that I've ever worked with. I recorded a demo and an MTV video with them before hitting the road for my first european tour. At the end of 1989 our manager lost his mind and tried to kill us. Ice Age was no more. I returned to Sacramento and, with no success, played in a few more bands. The early 1990's was a crazy time for me. I turned to acting hoping to find some answers. I did community theatre studying under Ed Claudio, who also does work with actors Timothy and Buck Busfield. I signed with three casting agencies and managed to get a lot of work on films as an extra. One of those jobs was on the TV show, "Nash Bridges". It was fun. I learned a lot of behind the scenes work. So now it's 2006 and I'm ready to get back to my roots- music. This is the rebirth of Sentinel Beast.
