About Me

I am one of a kind (1:6,619,848,888 for better or for worse Most people who know me would unequivocally say better, but what is the measure of one who has no detractors? As long as the world continues to breed at an alarming rate, my rarity will continue to improve.

I have a natural grace and great consideration for others. I am a person of imaginative, yet honest intentions. My nature is both dramatic and romantic. Many admire my social and physical appearance. I am the life of any party. I am often unaware of the effect I have on others. My charm is quite irresistable. Generosity and perfection are my assets, and they show. Executive ability is prominent in my makeup.

The above are fortune cookie fortunes; remarkably accurate, but not perfect.

Which solo Morrissey song are you?
You are Bengali In Platforms! So very, very misunderstood. Why can't anyone understand you didn't mean it *that* way?

My Interests

1. Reading 2. Movies 3. Eating out 4. Exploring Los Angeles 5. Travel

I'd like to meet:

I'd just like to meet friends in LA, people who like the same films, music, tv shows and other hobbies.

I'd like a good dinner at home and a play date. I have lots of board games, jigsaw puzzles, Wii, PS2, XBox360. I'll even let you beat me at Super Mario Cart.

Cyanide and Happiness

Music:

I love music, but not really into anything that has come out in the past few years. That could be a sign that I'm getting old, or that today's music is crap.
My favorite artist would have to be Jeff Buckley, and it's sad he only made the one full-length studio release. Get some of the imports and bootlegs and you'll get a better taste of what might have been.
Others in the MP3 Player: A-Ha, Alanis Morissette, Axelle Red, Bad Brains, Beck, Ben Harper, Better Than Ezra, Big Audio Dynamite, Big Country, Billie Myers, Bob Dylan, Boys Next Door, Bruce Springsteen, Bush, Chemical Brothers, Chris Isaak, Clarence Carter, Coldplay, Collective Soul, Cowboy Junkies, Creed, Crowded House, Depeche Mode, Divinyls, Dread Zeppelin, Duran Duran, Echo and the Bunnymen, Eurythmics, Everthing but the Girl, Fiona Apple, Foo Fighters, Garbage, Gary Jules, Gin Blossoms, Green Day, Hank Williams, Hole, Hope Sandoval, Hothouse Flowers, Howard Jones, Indigo Girls, INXS, Janes Addiction, Jewel, Johnny Cash, Keiko Matsui, Leonard Cohen, Live, Lone Justice, Matchbox 20, Mazzy Star, Melissa Etheridge, Moby, MOrrisey, Natalie Merchant, Neil Diamon, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Oasis, Oingo Boingo, Otis Redding, Pearl Jam, Peter Gabriel, Prince, Public Image Ltd., Queen, REM, Red Cell One, Sarah McLachlan, Seal, Sinead Lohan, Social Distortion, Spandau Ballet, Staind, Sting, Stone Temple Pilots, Talking Heads, Etta James, The Clash, The Corrs, The Cure, The English Beat, The Fixx, The Innocence Mission, The Jam, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Police, The Smithereens, The Smiths, The Sundays, The Verve, The Wallflowers, The Waterboys, The Who, Third Eye Blind, Tom Jones, Tom Petty, Tonic, Tonio K, Tori Amos, Train, U2, UB40, X, Young Dubliners

Movies:

I mostly enjoy watching Foreign or Indie films; yay Laemmle's theaters. I don't really have 1 favorite, but of note are Denys Arcand's Jesus of Montreal, Krzysztof Kieslowski's Tri Colors Trilogy and Decalogue. I've become quite the fan of European films.
There is the other side of me that enjoys comedies such as Office Space, Trey Parker and Kevin Smith Films (minus Jersey Girl.) I just don't need to see the latest blockbuster film, or any of the films that people seem to see just for the sake of seeing them.
OK, I finally broke down and tried Netflix, it's great, except for the waiting part.

Television:

Family Guy Simpsons South Park

Books:

I enjoy reading, mostly modern fiction books, but will delve into biographies, reference and history books on occasion. An exciting Friday night for me is the Barnes and Noble store at The Grove.
Recent reads were I Am No One You Know by Joyce Carol Oates, Ignorance by Milan Kundera and Love Invents Us by Amy Bloom. There are lots of things I'd like to read given the time.
Other favorite authors of mine are: Alain De Botton, Martin Amis, Thomas Moran, etc. I could continue, but will stop now lest I be adjudicated a nerd.

Heroes:

Stewart Gilligan Griffin
