Well i didn't tell u about football. Grew up watchin the Grant Pacers, kind of a tradition for my fam... and of course I'm now a Cal fan (GO BEARS! We beat the Cardinals 5 years straight!) I love to sing, and i'm not cocky or ne thing, but i think i'm pretty good at it. I like outdoor activities like hiking and rafting, swimming, and usta hit the whole heights on my bike wit Nelle & Patty, rollin' out, lol! I like to build stuff too, working with my hands has always been my thing. And if you're nice to me, you might get some of my brownies- NOT the "special" kind. I don't do that. If you're smokin or drinkin tonite, call me in a few days cuz I don't wanna smell that. Well, I'm a freshman @ UC Berkeley: Architecture major... and the "One Drop" on Priestley 1st floor (I changed the definition of "1drop" cuz it's so true) But yea, i like to listen to the radio and waste much valuable time on YouTube.... and take lots of pics of late. There's no way to describe the rest.... u'd hafta be there.
PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW TO FORGIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ppl who get this joke... Ppl who think the 51 should be more on time! The Great Thinkers of Berkeley
The list is too long. Let's jus say I'll listen to anything once. I like rap, R&B, Oldies, soul, jazz, blues, gospel, rock(80's & current), reggae, even "Tex-Mex." I've heard it called that. Generally ne thing but Country, except LeeAnn Rhymes, Shania Twain.... And the first CD that I ever got, not a burned mix CD, was Chris Brown, and I'm still lovin it. Of course all my songs tied to inside jokes, such as..... "You should think about it... Take a second... ...Ding!"
My favorite is The Goonies. I'll watch it no matter what time it is. Love Remember The Titans, Liar Liar, Selena, Problem Child 1-3, Scream 1-3, Bad Boys 1-2, Don't be a Menace to yata yata While yata yata Juice in the Hood and all the Black movies they're makin fun of. Meet the Parents/the Fockers, Brown Sugar, Love&Basketball (altho Tyra Banks pissed me off in that movie). Fat Albert was good. X-Men 2 was tight freshman year (HS), then Crash & Final Destination 3(shudder), and this year Stomp the Yard, Daddy's Little Girls.. o yea and all 3 PIRATES!!!!! So yea, I like comedies, horror films, action crap, adventures, love stories... and an occasional Disney throwback. Pretty much if the preview looks interesting enough on tv it has a chance.
I love to watch FRIENDS and Fresh Prince, eventho they're all re-runs and I could probably quote whole episodes. Yes Dear, King of Queens, Chappelle's Show(especially the Mad Real World episode & the Black White Supremacist! ha!), Mad TV, Law & Order SVU and Criminal Intent, Monk, Saved, ER, The Practice, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, South Park, Rocket Power, Dragon Tales, Lilo & Stitch, That's So Raven, Recess, Kim Possible (yes that's rite it's the naked mole rat!), music videos, and of course channel 5 Univisión & Spanish soaps: that's "las noticias y telenovelas." Hilarity! "Drip drip drip..." This was NOT part of my plan
The Good Book, especially Proverbs... and Whatever Mrs. Reynaga made me read, but in 3 years it was never garbage. Their Eyes Were Watching God is so good, but don't see Oprah's movie version, trust me. Huck Finn, Scarlet Letter, Jane Eyre, East of Eden is hecka tight and so is Cold Sassy Tree. It's like a soap opera, lol! Pride & Prejudice was good too. Since then I've read Raisin in the Sun, which was great, then some otha stuff that fills my HEART with DARKNESS, hint hint. I love the mind of Cornel West, so I started reading his book "Race Matters"... then i lost it! Crap!
Mi madre is my hero because she has sacrificed so much for me in my eightteen years. Through all our differences, which have come to be only few, i kno she has my best interest in mind and heart. My sisters Dai & Nelle are my role models for life cuz i kno they have good heads on their shoulders, they keep everything real with me and they look out 4 me big time. My family has been thru a lotta thick & a little thin, but when it counts we pull thru & they've pulled me thru the hardest couple of years of my life. Dearie is more my heroe than I once knew: the motivation for me to try hard when I didn't want to care; the source of my love of Spanish; the reason educatoin has been valued in my whole family; the one who fed me almost everyday for almost four years, who made the sweetest pies, tea, and Kool-aid known to Man, the one with the "Cussin' Can"; the one who paid for me to go to Mexico, who thought so much of me and was so proud of me... I'm glad she got to know I got into Berkeley, and sometimes her hope in me is the only reason I feel like keepin' on.Dearie Bearie... the young Stunn@........
