About Me

We have called it a day on our metal making antics!
:
James - Iapetus Records
Nightmares of the Dead: acoustic intro is nice. when the songs kick in, instantly reminds me of darkest hour - which is a good thing! some nice dual guitar harmonies, and a badass guitar solo. the vocal layerings work well too.
We are the Disease: instantly sounds much heavier than notd. some nice riffs in here too! think its the 2nd main riff that really stands out - got a nice groove to it, almost dimebag/pantera-y. good stuff.
Jay - Shaped By Fate
Nightmares of the dead-- Ok, so i heard the demo for this song (then titled 'Flop' - i love you, pete) and it had the trademark Pre-infection style: classy riffs, "old-skool" chords, a drum machine, and a not-so-focused-on bass/rhythm line. blatez this was obv gonna change lolzz0rz!!!111111 and boy did it do just that. boosted rhythm line by the ever-improving spence and a nice pumping bass line by new recruitment carl, and joff's also ever-improving skills on the heads, completely made this song what it is. pete's backing vocals in the chorus give it that perfect stadium feel and what can i say, i hope these guys keep knocking out tunes that get better and better all the time. top notch.
We are the disease-- Now, i've always loved this one. Even forgetting the rest of the song, i think every time i've seen these guys live (which, to be fair, is most of their gigs), me and dicky have been at the front, singing along to words we dont know, blowing pete's smoking solo fingers, and waiting for that amazing riff.. in this song. we are the disease basically is pre-infections distinguishing song. the melodic pete smith riffery, always touching on the likes of shadows fall and as i lay dying (to name but a few influences) and the slightly more 'to-the-roots' choral plunges reminiscent of the early kirk hammet work. all in all a very catchy song - these kids will go places if they stick at it. the only thing they need now is for benster to get a haircut. peace.

I honestly am impressed by your music.
here it is:
"This self-titled demo, the first for Swindon based metallers really sets the standards high in underground metalcore. Things could only get better for the five-piece outfit.
Kicking off with a heavy, well structured song called We Are The Disease. It really gets your head nodding, right after the mood-setting drum solo intro. The rhythmic guitar work, aggressive vocals, powerful drumbeat and simple yet effective riffs give this song the title it deserves; proper metal! Two well fitting guitar solos finish this song off sweetly, the second more complex than the first. An excellent example of how a metal song should be writ!
The second song: Nightmares Of The Dead, showing a melodic side to the bands music. Starting with a complex acoustic intro, which sets the mood for the song well. From here, straight into heavy, fast beating guitar work and drum patterns. Complemented by the aggressive, yet emotional vocals, which are harmonised well by a second vocalist. The sing is tight and it works well. A solo that is perfectly backed by chords, perhaps ending too abruptly. The song leaves you wanting more.
Overall, I can see a future for the band. Hard work and commitment to continue making masterpieces like these is the key!Good luck Pre-Infection!
