Mudpie Jones

Post-progressive shoegazer low calorie so-cal rock

About Me

Mudpie Jones, the miscreant, petty and flatulent thoughtchild of LA denizen Joaquin Sanchez is a post-modern progressive tinged rock band that strives to create aurally stimulating and lyrically engaging pop songs that challenge the musician and listener alike with complex rhythmic interplay, textural washes and finely tuned and expansive harmonic landscapes./p)
Alternately, it could also be described as a tear from an eye dreaming or a pimple on the pope’s pet dragon.

Drawing from a broad set of influences, the band is, more than most bands that claim to be so, unclassifiable, progressive, enigmatic and uncommercial, though paradoxically ear-friendly and populist as all fudge.

Ultimately, Joaquin and his alter-ego hope that the music speaks for itself, beyond the need for labels, pigeon-holing and self fellatio. But then again, the surface tension of stupidity has always been fragile.
