good food, wine, coffee; travelling, photography, writing, reading, working out, cooking
depends on my mood, like everything else..jazz, latin (the more passionate and intense the better), dance, some mainstream and retro but not when it's overplayed, 'women with soul' like sade, dido, bebel gilberto, madeleine peyroux; also U2 and coldplay(really..who DOESN'T like them?), santana, moby, enigma; occassionally some classical, light techno
under the tuscan sun is my favorite for when I want to feel better and feel inspired..also love the soundtrack..it's good cooking music; sleepless in seattle is my favorite romantic comedy for when I want to believe in love and that everything is falling right into place; chocolat (another great soundtrack for cooking and feeling inspired); some off-the-beaten-path stuff like happenstance, before sunrise/sunset, my big fat greek wedding(ok I admit I like john corbett); also older movies like breakfast at tiffany's, it happened one night, philadelphia story, sabrina
don't really watch much TV but if I do: food, travel, nat'l geog channels; but there are times when mindless reruns are still fun no matter what; the BBC version of pride and prejudice (colin firth is THE PERFECT mr. darcy!); and I have to say for the first time in my life I actually found a show that I am really into..heroes..it's amazing and inspiring!
everything by jane austen (especially pride and prejudice, emma, and persuasion), confessions of a shopaholic, bridget jones diary 2, the provence series by peter mayle, any travel narrative for that matter, some stuff by deepak chopra, julia cameron, sarah ban breathnach..but not when any of it gets too preachy or kitschy; 2 inspiring books that found me this year: the pursuit of happiness and tolstoy lied. check them out!
in spite of all our conflicts and differences, I really admire and respect my parents; anybody who believes in something and goes for it, who is hard working, brave, and follows the "beat of her/his own drummer"
