God Holds US
No one has ever cared for me in the way that you do
I’ve never witnessed something so real, something so true
Before you I had issues concerning the real, and who I should trust
And the man who holds my future is who I trust in holding US
No one has ever loved me so dearly; no one can be who you can be
I’ve never witnessed something so tangible, something I can perceive
Before you I had tainted visions of love, but now my visions I should trust
For it is he that have placed you in my life and it he that holds US
I’ve never cared for anyone the way that I do you
Because I thought I’d never find someone who’s so faithful and true
I’m quite sure before you met me you some issues with trust
But no need to worry-I’m a great woman and God holds us
I’ve never loved someone so dearly; no one will ever be who I can be
Never as tangible nor perceivable; no one will ever love you like me
Erase those tainted visions because the clarity is not unjust
For it is the divine God up above-not the past-who holds US
I know that I am in love and it will never leave
And if it ever does my heart’s the lock-you have the key
Holding hands as we stand still in a chapel-facing God with vows of love
Vows of trust and sacrifice of separateness-becoming one before God above
As tears formulate-I’ve never witnessed something so beautiful
Family here from near and far-to witness our true love
A horse-driven carriage, with white horses arrives-with your soon to be wife
And I pace slowly down a rose filled isle that starts the greatest part of my life
I see you crying and you look at me in tears-and we both begin to smile
Because we’ve went that extra distance-we’ve ran that extra mile
And after the wedding is over-God says to me “Well done”
“I told you I would hold you both; I told you he’s the one”
And up until that day I’ll still be praying, because the God I trust
Helped us make it this far and will continue to be holding US
