About Me

Sometime ago I stumbled on something I found interesting. It proposed the idea of writing my own eulogy as a way of clearly defining my values. So....I did....and here it is. Not only should it paint a picture of who I am, but also who I hope to become...................................................... ............................................................ ....................."When I learned that I was chosen to present this eulogy, I thought it would be an easy task to do. As I sat down and prepared it, I learned otherwise. Robert was not the most giving man in the world, but he wanted to be. He was not the most educated man, but he aspired to be...nor was he the most traveled, loyal or self-disciplined but I think we can all agree they were goals he actively sought...................................................... ............................................................ ..................... Another trait of Robert's that I'm certain we can all agree on is that he was not afraid to live. He continuously thrust himself into places most would not dare to go. One of his most fundamental beliefs was in education. I often heard him say that "If some man with his pants half covering his butt can fix my plumbing, so can I". He applied this principle toward every aspect of his life. Auto repair, writing, painting, computers, dancing, foreign languages...it just didn't matter to him. He knew he was capable of doing anything he wanted, so he wanted to do everything could. For fun, he studied....everything. He collected stamps and coins...but, gauging by the crowd here, he was most successful at collecting friends..................................................... ............................................................ ......................I have never known Robert to desert a friend. Even after the utilitarian nature of his friendships faded, he always kept a channel of communication open as a demonstration of his loyalty and to show honor toward something that was once truly important to him. I see here friends of Robert's that he has made throughout all the periods of his life. Childhood, high-school, college, even friends from around the globe. Though Robert loved his parents and siblings, it is easy to see that in his eyes, we were all his family.".................................................... ............................................................ ........................There ya' go.....enough about me.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

...the guy who invented the little diagram telling you which way to put batteries in something..... shy of that....I'm particularly fond of people who solve their own problems. Clever, ingenious, resourceful. These are traits I admire. Intelligent people. People so intelligent they fully comprehend that they don't know anything. I found confidence attractive years ago. Now I realize that confidence is mostly a manifestation of shallowness.....of course, all sins come in pairs, so the inverse isn't too great either.
