Off to Russia... almost...

About Me

Born and raised in Twin Falls, Idaho. A relatively small town, primarily agriculture based economy. Not wanting to be stuck there for the rest of my life, I moved to Tucson, Arizona to go to attend the University of Arizona in 2000. I started pursuing an astronomy degree, but quickly decided that wasn’t for me. Switched to in Physics in 2001 (big change I know), and in December 2004, I graduated with a BS in Physics and a minor in math.Following graduation I was approached with a job offer from a past professor running a research project in the Physics Department at the University of Arizona. Not having any other job lined up I gratefully accepted. The job was only suppose to last for one year, however about 3 months prior to the end of my contract my boss approached me asking if I would be interested in staying on indefinitely. If I did I would take a more active roll within the group. Again having no job lined up, I took the extension.Fast forward a year, I have spent a month in Geneva, Switzerland working on the ATLAS project, a huge international collaboration building the worlds largest particle detector. I am scheduled to make several trips to Russia as the #2 person in the Arizona group, working on R&D for the ATLAS upgrade planned in 4-5 years, and in the mean time I manage several smaller projects at Arizona.Who would have guessed 6 years after leaving Twin Falls I would be where I am now.My life does not revolve around my job; however it does take up a large portion of my time. So time spent hanging out and visiting friends is always welcome, whether it is a simple trip to the movies or a night out at the bars.-(`v)-  Design your MySpace with MyLook -(`v)-¢½
