Bio:

A Los Angeles native, Freya was intrigued as a child by BellyDancers seen in old James Bond movies. Since then, she has explored the art of BellyDance for almost a decade.

Dubbing her style of dance Eclecticbelly because of the various forms of “BellyDance” Freya studied – home spun Cabaret, classic Egyptian and mystical North African Guedra - it is the latter one that continues to resonate. Communal Womyn dancing Together, Supporting one another as they go in and out of Trance, Witnessing Feminine Magic that does not have to be explained but Felt.

Today, this is what Freya considers to be her first steps into Preistesshood and her heartfelt gift to the universe. Committing herself to encouraging womyn of all ages to be more communal with one another, Freya has created opportunities where womyn can talk with one another, dance freely and share positive energy. Her innovative events such as Freya’s BellySpa, a day-long Womyns’ Conference, and EclecticBelly Dance for Love have provided fun, nurturing, and creative environments for self-expression by womyn.

Freya is a school counselor, working with Special Needs children and their families. A graduate of Cal State Northridge, she holds post-graduate degrees in Psychology and Education. She enjoys the ocean and gardening.
