Around Chicago, this dude was always well known by his face, but not by his name. His widespread notoriety cloaked behind a backdrop of anonymity was the source of his now recognizable nickname - Von Doe. But just who is this infamously unidentified Eastside rapper?Doe made his entrance into the rap game in 1999. It was a natural progression from the social ties and connections he had with other hip-hop artists who were beginning to make their mark at the time. That year, Doe was featured on Sean Lett's "Born Ready" EP and in 2001 he released the EP "Dayz Of Our Lives" on Franchise Records. It included features from Newsense of Psychodrama and Def Soul artist Kaye Fox with all production done by No I.D. Having proved his irrefutable talent, Doe created Doe Family Entertainment. In 2003 he released "Chi-Town Chronicles I" and "Chi-Town Chronicles II" followed in 2004.The self-proclaimed workaholic has been busy writing and experimenting with new songs, many of which may not make it to his mixtape album "The Duality Of Man" which is to be released in July of 2006. This is because some songs will be placed on a soon to follow, still, unnamed album. Duality features Chicago hip-hop luminaries No I.D., Dug Infinite, and Johnny P to name a few. "Everyone is both good and evil. The best person is capable of anything, love or hate. "Doe speaks from his experience as a product of a foster home, a hustler, a soldier, and a counselor in the penitentiary. He says he has lived the duality of which he speaks, going from having no future to changing the future of others.Looking ahead, Doe says he wants to keep creating good music but would also would also like to go into acting. He acted as a kid and continues to write screenplays that he hopes will one day go into production. With deep roots in Chicago hip-hop, several successful releases under his belt, and an attuned understanding of life, Von Doe is certain to be one of Chicago's most prominent players.
