SNOWBLIND

About Me

snowblind formed in sleepy north wales when jimmy met mark and they recruited some unsuspecting friends as a rhythm section. drawing on the typical influences of boys with guitars in seaside towns – nirvana, radiohead, rage against the machine and so on – they wrote a clutch of songs and took them out to play in public. in due course they met fellow art-rockers casino, and played a series of noisy, messy shows together. this was a significant meeting, as will later become apparent.
the songwriting partnership between mark and jimmy has remained the creative constant in the band throughout various line-up changes, quiet periods, geographical difficulties and other erstwhile concerns. now, though, snowblind are based in manchester. bass guitar duties are handled by dave harding-smith, former guitarist for casino, and andrew pass sits at the back holding it all together. their sound has evolved to incorporate tricksy time signatures and post-rock dynamics and textures into the stock-in-trade thick, loud pop songs. snowblind have been gigging in manchester for a little over a year and have accrued a reputation for furious live shows and providing something a little left-of-centre in the local scene.
keep an eye on this space for updates and gigs, and check the blog to see what we’re up to.
"...I was instantly gripped with the unique sounds being pumped from the amps, and with the emotion put into the lyrics from Jimmy Manley and Mark Wegner, the bands' front men." - www.guestlistmusic.blogspot.com
