TRAINING HISTORYSergio Miguel Sieres Morales was born in Camaguey, a province in Cuba, where he graduated from the Camaguey School of Arts. In 1994 he joined Jorge Vede, director and founder of the Camaguey Ballet Company, where he performed Giselle, La Fille Mal Gade, Majisimo, Concert de Haydn, Carmen, Romeo & Juliet, Avalandre, Corsica, Ballade, and Paquita.In 1997 he joined Alicia Alonso, director and founder of the Cuban National Ballet Company. Sergio performed Don Quixote, Nutcracker, Capellie, Swan lake & others. Premiere at DanceExpo 2002.“Born in Havana” merges the strength and beauty of the Cuban dancer with the brilliance and accuracy of the rhythmic gymnast. It explores the essence of Cuban salsa - from its roots in the fusion of African and Spanish rhythms, which gave birth to rumba and son, via authentic mambo and cha cha cha, to casino, the vibrant, contemporary style of Cuban salsa. The work emphasizes body movement, musical interpretation, exciting salsa moves and a wide exploration of Cuban dance forms and gymnastic perfection. CUBAN NIGHTS”NOCHE CUBAN” Sergio Sieres Choreographed a National Show called “Noche Cubana-Cuban Night” the concept was put together to express the Cuban culture through music and dance, most of the artist is this production were Cuban dancers , choreographers sharing the stage with local artists. The band Director was Armando Garcia from Santiago de Cuba.CUBAN FOLKLORIC COMPANYCuban Folkloric Company is an Afro-Cuban folkloric and contemporary dance company that preserves the traditional dances, songs, music and stories of Cuba in Australia. Members of the Cuban Folkloric Company include Cuban and local artists dedicated to the ethnographic investigation of traditional Afro-Cuban music and dance under the direction & Founder of Sergio Miguel Sieres Morales. AFROCUBAN EXPRES PRODUCTION Featuring some of the original members of 'Havana Nights' and 'Lady Salsa'! The Production was created by Sergio Sieres and produced by the Cuban Folkloric Company ,music Directed by Armando Garcia Perez & Trovason Band it features the talents of professional Cuban artists, teachers and choreographers from the national performing arts schools and folkloric dance groups of Cuba who have performed around the world. The repertoire will contain representation of the most influential African cultures, the Yoruba & Palo. AfroCuban Express also preserves the music and dances created by the cultural mix of African and Spanish influences into a uniquely Cuban expression and include dances such as salsa, mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Son, Danzon, Pilon, Mozambique, Comparsa, Carnival and Rumba. Every dance will tell a story which reflects the Cuban culture. Our goal is to establish a strategic solution through AfroCuban Express to create public awareness on a national and international level. TURANDOT Recently Sergio finished a performance with the Australian Opera (Turandot by Pucini) under the Direction of Graeme Murphy founder, director ,Teacher and Choreographer of the Sydney Dance Company . Sergio is now working on a new production with Cuban Male Dancers and teaching classical Ballet,Cuban Folklore & Cuban styles nationally.My mission is to open a Cuban Performance Art school in Australia to educate and foster a greater understanding of the rich diversity within Cuban cultures through dance!
