Influences: A thunderous cheer filled the auditorium in 1996, as Marc Sardou sang his first solo. Discovered by his own choir teacher, Sardou was given multiple opportunities to nourish his talent in front of live spectators. The young 8th grader was also pre-selected to contribute solos for the school jazz band playing the alto saxophone. His involvement in both fields trained him to have a natural ear for music, leading him to teach himself to play the piano.
In his freshman year of high school, Sardou quickly picked up the ability to produce his own tracks. Commended by his English teacher for his originality to write stories, he transferred that creativeness into songwriting. Perplexed at the fact that he was only 15, he willingly accepted an offer to lead a band every weekend on vocals and piano. At rehearsals he added to his talent by picking up the skill to play the drum set. This expanded his point of view on different sides of music granting him an advantage as a growing artist.
As he grabbed his high school diploma, the experience of being a natural gifted performer was also recognized. A Special Achievement Award was presented to Marc Sardou for his outstanding performances of singing the national anthem at numerous events. His history of singing the anthem start from local Linden Tiger basketball games all the way to singing for the governor of New Jersey. In between these two moments behold acts of countless weddings, banquets, graduations, special gatherings, county and state championship games, regions, and more.
Sardou was accepted to Nyack College New York because of his capability to perform and have an ear for music. Though high school had much success for Sardou, going away to college was what exploded his skill to play and sing. In a mandatory meeting, all of the college students sat quiet in the gymnasium in awe of his performances on occasion. Willing to provide transportation, someone asked Marc to play in New York every weekend. However, he did not accept the proposal due do the fact he would have to leave the band he traveled back home every weekend for to play with. That was one of many incidents handed to him.
After transferring to William Paterson his music unfolded into a unique beautiful gift. His familiarity in the different genres of music gave him the wisdom to birth a new musical style taste unlike what we hear today. Starting at a rather young age, even his writing grew into one of a kind concepts instead of your typical songs today. Marc Sardou would be best described as a blend of many artists due to his performance and writing, such as Usher, Babyface, Ne-Yo, Brian McKnight, John Legend, and more. For those who’ve heard Sardou perform, he always gets a high demand of an album release. Today Sardou is in the studio creating a historic album and growing into the amazing artist he was destined to be.
