Hello, my name is Lisa *"hi Lisa"* and I'm a songwriter. :)
I moved to Nashville almost 8 years ago to pursue a career in songwriting. However, being a person who finds great comfort in stability (and the security that's felt in knowing I'll be able to pay my rent) I've lost some much needed focus.
I currently work for an artist management company and LOVE my gig. I work with some incredibly talented people. People I grew up listening to, who I've always respected. Phenomenal writers I aspire to be like. I never dreamt I'd get to do the things I do and I look around in awe, most days, thinking "is this really MY life?!"
As good as it it, I've come to think of it as a blessing and kind of a curse. Does it feed my passion for music? Absolutely! I get to submerge myself in all things music every day AND have the security of knowing I can pay my bills. Then what's the curse? It's made me a bit too comfortable, I'm afraid. I don't push myself as I should and I regret that. After a long day of work it's hard to just flip a switch and be creative. I'm working on that, though...thus, the lisa lewis myspace music page.
You won't hear my vocals here, I'm not a vocalist. I don't play a lick of music either (big thanks to my co-writers!); I'm strictly lyrics. Speaking of co-writers, because I am adamant about giving credit where credit is due, the songs here were co-written with, and are sung by, Thomas Klein and Dustin Michael.
