Ellen Oakes Kerr

Nowadays, I find so much purpose in simple ways...

About Me

Ellen picked up a guitar at age 11 and began writing heart-felt folk/rock/country tunes at age 14. Since then she's been wowing audiences in the Western/Central New York area with her magnetic alto vocals and strong acoustic style. She's now 28 and performing stronger than ever. With four original cd's already under her belt, the latest being "Chronophobia," Ellen has put together a top-notch backup band to perform at festivals and clubs throughout the area, while still maintaining her one-woman show that her fans have long enjoyed. While her influences stem from great oldies like Neil Young, the Dead, Janis Joplin, and Jefferson Airplane, she's been compared to the likes of Tracy Chapman and Natalie Merchant.
