"In the alley of life we are the coolest cats, if you lined every cat up in order of coolest we, my friend, are the head hanchos." -Daniel BeckThe Karnies started as 7th graders in summer 2005 in Corpus Christi, Texas with Daniel, (former guitarist/bassist) Ypmuts (Nahtan Nihsel * not real name), and Tyler. With Tyler on bass, Daniel on drums, and Ypmutson guitar. The Karnies wern't starting off so well; missing practice, conflict, and not knowing each other all to well.
Later that summer 2005 Tyler, Daniel, and friend Lauren Meza went to the Vans Warped Tour. Still at this time Daniel and Tyler didn't know each other too well. While watching The Matches (post E. Von Dhal era) Tyler and Daniel started a huge mosh-pit together and eternal friendship was formed.
That night Tyler spent the night at Daniels house for convience because it was late. They talked about music for hours that night say how disgraceful it is that bands like Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne, and Panic at the Dico! are considerd punk. When true punk bands are The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and The Clash. Wich lead to talking about how The Karnies arn't doing so hot, and how we should bring back true punk. So it was decided that Tyler would move to guitar and Ypmuts to bass.
They progressed the next 8 months, covering bands like the Offspring and Green Day, to what they thought was decent. Yet, problems arose. While Tyler and Daniel got better Tree stayed the same. Ypmuts was often late to practice by hours at the least, when he did come he had problems keeping beat, knowing the songs, and sure as hell not showboating, I tell you what (nah just kidding he never really did that we just like giving him a hard time, hes actually a pretty rad dude). Well Daniel and Tyler after keeping quiet about these problems finnaly decided that he had to go. They told him that if he didn't progress soon that he was out. Sadly, he didnt so we had to let him go.
From then to freshmen year at King (about at year) it was Tyler and Daniel perfecting covers. During this time Daniel transferd to bass. Well finnaly they had a show coming up in October 2006 and they were drummer-less. Calling in some favors they finnaly got Paul Rodruigez two days before the show. After some stressfull practicing they played the show and it went good. Then they practiced with Paul a few more times when music intrestes broke him from them. Paul was more into heaver bands like Slipknot.
Time went on while Tyler and Daniel were still on the persuit for a drummer. I'd say hot persuit but if anything it was a cold persuit, because neither of them were looking very hard. They were just waiting for a drummer to fall into their hands. As luck would have it they met Tatum Tot (John Tatum) in gym in January of 2007. A rocky intruduction by Tyler and Daniel was made to Tatum Tot, but a introduction at the least. So slowly they started hanging out and talking about music in gym and a few time in ISS. Tatum Tot came over to jam one time, and The Karnies as you know them now was formed. Now they are playing local gigs around Corpus Christi and the rest of Texas. A punk begining for a punk band.
