Hey! Robot!

About Me

Starting life as a duo heavily inspired by Kings of Convenience, hey!robot! was born in late 2005 in the drab surroundings of a university hall of residence. Drums were soon added once every door in the corridor had been listened through. A handful of gigs were played as a three-piece before a friend of a friend came to watch the band and told them they needed a bass. He promptly went and bought one, learnt it quickly and joined the band. As a four-piece, hey!robot! draws inspiration from bands like Bloc Party and The Smiths whilst still maintaining their commitment to acoustic instruments. Drawn from all over England but brought together by university, hey!robot! has made Sheffield the setting for the pursuit of its musical ambitions.
