I am deeply disturbed by the path which humanity has been following for the past few hundred years and would like to do everything I can to change our course to becoming a completely sustainable society. I am devoted to the sustainability movement and one day will be the co-founder of an eco-village/CSA farm. I am currently an environmental educator in the Poconos (aka Eastern Pennsylvania) working with children and adults to teach them sustainable living strategies. The environmental movement is too wrapped up in the negative. Constantly telling people that "We are all going to die!" is never going to work. Using scare tactics will only fuel what we are fighting against. If we were all to focus more on plausible alternatives to our environmental problems - ones that will create more jobs, build beautiful human habitats, and increase biological productivity - it would be possible to create a sustainable society.
