Leon Silva has been performing professionally since the age of 15. An alumni of the world renown Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, Leon has studied with such jazz greats as Billy Pierce, Andy McGhee and Phil Wilson among others. Leon recently vistited Los Angeles, California where he had the opportunity to perform and record with artists such as Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Nelly, Ashanti, Justin Timberlake, the Cheetah Girls, Back Street Boyz, Johnny Gill and Bobby Brown and super producer Nephu. Though not currently a member, he works regularly for many bands contracted through the Musicians Union, Local 47 in Hollywood. Leon is also a member of the horn section the "Regiment", who has recorded and performed with many of the above artists as well as being on tour with American Idol winner and vocal powerhouse Fantasia. The Regiment consists of Leon on saxes, Sean Erick on Trumpet and Flughel Horn, and Kevin Williams on Trombone and Flute and Kris Royal also on saxes, flute and keyboard. Leon is also an educator, having completed the Music Education Program at Berklee College of Music and passing the Mass. State Teachers exam. Leon has taught both in the Mass. public schools as well as privately. Most recently having taught in the Brockton Public Schools in Mass. as a Junior High Instrument/Band teacher and Elemtary Instrumental music teacher.Leon currently resides in BOSTON, MAI'M A MUSICIAN ALWAYS ON THE MOVE.
