I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS

About Me

My head pressed firmly to the ground, I listened-envisioned the soil driven into my soul creating creative root path for growth in mind, spirit and body-I listened-for future to change, rebirth, new reign of common sense, change of past tense chains that bound us, let infinity find us-Cycles changing, circles re-arranging, roots gaining power, gripping soil to feed the flower of possibility, change is as simple as you and me, and life is a cycle of unforgiving circles unless we stop and listen.................now listen...................................................... ............................................................ ............found this music layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments

I'd like to meet:

equal love without condition.

Music:

This could get strange: Immortal technique, angie stone, mattafix, aceyalone, tipper, Katchafire, Ooklah da Mac, IZ, Erykah Badu, Johnny Cash, 2 many DJ's (thats the flippin truth!),Devandra Banhart, Cody Chestnut, RJD2, edIT, Cat Power, Bad Brains, Earlimart, Fourtet, Camille Yarboruough, Erland Oye, Dan the Automator, the dears, Mars Volta, Dolly, Skullsnaps, Bloc PARTY, Joanna Newsom, The Arcade Fire, M.I.A., DJ Inti, Ugly Casanova, The Walkmen, Zion I, Aesop Rock, Medusa, Tom Waits, Jean Grae, DJ Wicked, Diplo, Holartronix, The Dresdon Dolls, Princess Superstarr, Brazilian Girls, Interpol, hansome boy modeling school, Junior Gong, mum, my morning jacket, And of course all that old shit that is so sweet in its own HipHopUtopian fresh way, you know the sweet back in the day days of Rawkus and such, and of course I am a super sucker for that dirty funk 45 that catch you by suprise, but I keep those artists close to my heart, nough said...and then there are the many more music type peoples that are in rotation on my private playlist. word.

Movies:

Bad education.....men in skirts are hot******* D.E.B.S......girls in skirts are hot too********

Television:

I don't watch the crap, and I would only watch it if I got Showtime and HBO and IFC because they are at least pushing the envelope with the drama yo, but I am a starving artist who has free cable because my old roommates smoked the cableguy out and so I dont have to pay, but when I turn it on it all sucks big time and I am sad it sucks so much because it is such a big part of our culture and does that mean we all suck, thats sad:( Anyway.....go out and make your own TV....Tonight.

Books:

One hundred Years of Solitude!, yep you should pick it up. Letters from young activists, frickin' dope perspective on the crazy state of affairs politically and otherwise in our little world., In Cuba I was a German Shepard, anything by David Sedaris and all dope sci-fi 80's cheese, yes please! I love books...I have been really into old zines that have been put together in compilations by guys like Cometbus. good stuff about the punk bay area scene back in the day.

Heroes:

My mom is my number one hero for strength, artistry, musicianship and all together got it going on inspiring. I am super lucky she is my mom. Other inspirations include Medusa, Julie Taymor, Frida Kahlo, Marc Chagall, Robert Wilson, Hanifa Walida, my home-Maui, Bahamadia, Believers of something, James Baldwin, Mic Jagger, Bell Hooks, Nina Simone, Franz Fanon, Che Gueverra and all of the people I have met who never sacraficed their art for condition yet always sacraficed the condition for their art.
