Victims Of Authority

About Me

We got together in winter '02 for jams and to kill some time. The band started with J.P on drums and Gary on guitar, who couldn't play a fucking note! Ross had been playing guitar for a couple of years and came to J.P's to try and teach Gary how to play. This failed miserably and Ross ended up joining 'The Band' as guitarist. This was when Ross and J.P threw Gary a bass and told him to learn to play. He did. He became the bass player. We started learning some covers in the glamourous setting of J.P's basement with crap amps, crap guitars, mike hanging from a lampshade and every fucker trying to be louder than the next. Ross ended up as singer too. (They Made me!!!). Things moved very slowly, taking 3 weeks to learn one song. Eventually we decided to find a place to practice. The local hall, of course. No amps, a shit p.a set in a hall with shite acoustics.Jumping forward 18 months, we decided to try and be a band and get some gigs. After about 6 months of arguing and bitching between us over a name we became Victims of Authority. We got a 15 minute opening slot for our first gig in October '04. We practiced up our best 4 covers, were raring to go, then the bastards cancelled! Now in January '06 we have been gigging for 16 months and are writing our own songs. (We now have our own amps and decent guitars too!) Our most recent gig at the local North Star nightclub, where our first live recordings were taken.Next up for us is the recording of our debut E.P in February '06, all original material, with a couple of live tracks. Hopefully due for release sometime in March. Keep an ear open for it on this site, and any of you muthafuckas in Shetland will be able to buy it in your local friendly record store!!Cheers.
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
