Played a little hardball in my life. I'm retired now, but I can still throw a baseball through a brick wall if I feel so inclined.
I'm the MLB career leader in strikeouts, with 5,714. Of course, that's just major leaguers. If we're talking about people in general, including women and children, the total is closer to 9,000. The fastball does not discriminate.
And hey, thanks to all you out there who apparently still have a little interest in what I've done. Especially you young kids; I'm glad your parents brought you up right. But I appreciate every last bit of it. Thank you.
I should be flattered but this is kind of embarrassing:
Still, that's one more song than they ever wrote about Chuck Norris.
Here's another Nolan fun-fact: Yes, my seven (7) No-Hitters are a record, but I also threw twelve (12) one-hitters. Oh, what could have been..
Also, found these on the internet:
Did You Know... that Nolan Ryan is the only pitcher to strike out the side on nine pitched balls in both the National League (April 19, 1968) and the American League (July 9, 1972)?
Quote...
"Nobody throws harder than Nolan Ryan. Not even God."
-George Scott
